One of my favorite songs we do with the Mudbugs is a cover of a Tab Benoit song called "We Make A Good Gumbo." Carter sings "My baby got the fire. (I scream after hearing this.) I got the roux. We make a good gumbo. Oh, yes, we do."Well, we can now back up our claim because we made a great sausage and chicken gumbo by following the master, Justin Wilson. My baby stirred up the roux for an hour and a half, which is not unlike a verse in the song that says, "My baby doesn't mind if it takes all night."
Oh, exciting news about the Mudbugs, we're playing on Fat Tuesday (Tuesday, Feb. 24) at Heroes Sports Bar in Old Town, Wichita. We're pretty pumped up about the gig!
