07.30.09 spotted at my post office

I love the juxtaposition of the pretty vine falling on the old sign and scary barbed wire.

07.29.09 lime sculpture

Carrie asked for some extra limes and she got it in the form of a lime sculpture.

07.28.09 a boy & his cat

Well, it's actually a neighborhood kitty named Cotton and he's very sweet (just like the boy).

07.23.09 Fun Barn

Made a trip down to Winfield to figure out how many people we can reasonably cram into our reception venue. Love these fine springy sculptures of a fiddling duo.

The best thing to come out of our visit was that we negotiated their strict "NO GLASS ON THE PREMISES" policy and they are gonna bend the rules for us. This means no PBR in cans and Fat Tire in bottles (Shay, I know Justin will be happy to hear of this).

07.22.09 Phase 2

Lexi Lou does the "shark" during swim lessons. She quickly breezed by Phase 1 and is now a Phase 2 swimmer.

07.21.09 Behold...the cone

This vending machine ice cream cone was just as good as it looks. I had the cone and a salad for dinner and I am not ashamed.

07.18.09 not as painful as it looks

CRG got this burn (he claims it doesn't hurt) by doing some body surfing in the Gulf of Mexico. I made that impression by pushing my hand into his back and quickly moving it and then I took the picture (I'm multi-talented).

07.13.09 glockenspiel

Did a video of a drum and bugle corps practicing for a gig later on tonight. It was pretty fun in spite of the fact that it was 100 degrees!

07.12.09 cruising

Spent some quality time with Norty over the weekend. All good things must come to an end and this was shot while I was taking him home. He loves his little perch on the armrest.

07.11.09 Mudbugs at the Pumphouse

This picture is one in my ongoing series of pictures from behind the pink drums. We played on the new gigantic stage at the Pumphouse and had a blast.

07.10.09 Yo Yos unplugged

Stacie and Jason dance to "Yellow," the song that our man Greg played at their wedding. Jason, Carter and Nick played on the patio at Oeno Wine Bar on a beautiful evening (a little stuffy at first but the libations cooled everyone off).

07.08.09 ring barrier

We bought a suit the other day for Colin to wear at our wedding. He wasn't with us but it fits him perfectly. He's very excited about being the "ring barrier."

07.07.09 a two-hour tour

Spent the day working on a story about Flint Oak, a hunting and fishing preserve about 70 miles from Wichita. I boarded a fishing boat with our guides thinking they were going to give us a short tour of the lake, however, it turned out to be a two-hour fishing trip and I didn't catch anything other than a branch. I did get a killer farmer's tan - it's sexy.

07.06.09 baseball

I'm not a huge fan of shooting baseball (there's too much time sitting around waiting on some action for me), but I do enjoy some things about being at the park. I like to work on my tan and there's usually a Little League team that joins the Minor League guys on the field while the National Anthem is played. It's pretty fun to watch the tiny guys on the giant field.

07.05.09 time to get cooking

Carter and I planted a cayenne pepper plant (we're Cajun - that's what we do) and this little guy looks almost done!

07.04.09 the Fourth means fireworks

I had a great Fourth that included two parties: one in Oklahoma on Robin's family's farm and the other in Wellington at the Ewing family abode (that's where this was taken).

07.03.09 pool plunges

I busted out the underwater camera to shoot Denise and CRG in the pool. You must check out this video of the two divers.

WOW, the ladies were right! I DO have good pool hair.
