09.25.09 this ain't your mama's wedding punch

CRG did some scientific drink mixing and came up with this lovely concoction for our wedding punch. We're calling it the "Gone Green." It's a mixture of pineapple juice, Midori, vodka, tonic and ginger ale. It's not too strong and quite good.

09.20.09 weed stompin'

My honey spent the morning pulling weeds. He really knows how to please his lady. Seriously, it looks fantastic and I am thrilled!

09.19.09 the grand prize winner

Check out this lovely presentation created by Lori L. It won first place in a contest to create the best gift presentation for my shower. They were all great and I am one lucky lady.

09.18.09 bathtub party

It's an annual tradition at Nick-O-teen's home. I'm always fearful that the bathtub might blow out due to the weight of the tasty beverages and that always reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite movies.

09.14.09 pink rose

I've got one pink rose growing in my garden and the critters love it.

09.13.09 behind the drums - part 2

It was an awesome Mudbugs-filled weekend. We played the most rockin' party in Wichita on Saturday night and then did hymns Cajun style at church (that explains the cross and Bible in the corner).

09.12.09 behind the drums - part 1

My view from Zoobilee. I couldn't see much from my throne (that's what a drummer's seat is called, I'm not really royalty), but I had a great time.

09.11.09 Suzanne looks scared

It was a little frightening for all of us to be puffing on that pipe. We got the hang of it (sorta) and it tasted like strawberry, well, kind of like a strawberry-scented air freshener.

09.09.09 gassing up over Kansas

That's my friend Sharon peaking out the window of a KC135. I was on board covering a refueling mission. The guest of honor was a very cool woman who was the first U.S. commercial pilot.

09.08.09 rain, rain, rain

It's very soggy outside.

09.07.09 driving home

Driving home from a long day laboring and realizing I hadn't shot anything for the blog. Some days are just more picturesque than others.

09.06.09 Sundays

Sundays mornings are the perfect time for crosswords and going out for breakfast.

CRG's crossword shirt is from a record he made with Gregatron. It's great music. Check it out here. ("Bourbon, Vodka and You" is my favorite.)

09.05.09 celebrity sighting on Hollywood Blvd.

We also saw Michael Jackson hanging out by his star. The only actual living celebrity we saw on our trip was Mikhail Baryshnikov. I spotted him at a restaurant we ate at on our first night.

Carrie and Molly took a bus tour of Hollywood homes and they're pretty sure they saw someone famous. They didn't know who he was but figured he must be famous since there was a group of people clamoring to take his picture.

09.03.09 the smoke and fog are gone

This is the view from our balcony. It doesn't suck.

09.02.09 Cali

I'm in L.A. with three lovely ladies celebrating my upcoming nuptials and the fact that Allegiant has cheap nonstop service from Wichita to L.A. This is the view from our room. It doesn't suck. The view to the left is the beach (which was a little foggy and smoky when we first arrived).

09.01.09 seven candles

The littlest CRG blew out all seven candles in one breath on his second try. His sister helped on the first try which was not appreciated by the birthday boy. Carter even chimed in with, "It's not cool to cheese in on a birthday cake." That statement is still cracking me up!
