12.31.10 Alegria

One more tilt-shift to end out the year. That's the stage for Cirque du Soleil's "Alegria" just before the show began. We thought it was great and it was an awesome way to finish a fantastic year.

12.20.10 1958-tastic

This is James. He's a high school freshman and aspiring journalist. This kid is old school in a great way with his 1958 rangefinder and calculator watch. The camera works and he uses it regularly, like today.

12.17.10 Mudcrackers

Lots of love went into creating these little Mudcrackers. They're so adorable (the wooden figurines and the real ones).

12.12.10 Merry Christmas

And a happy New Year!

12.11.10 yuletide spirits

Erin's favorite Christmas concoction is called the Christmas Tree and it's a mixture of gin, cranberry juice (great for women), lime and tonic. Very festive.

12.10.10 Sagittarians in the house

Looking for a way to spice up your party? Bust out the menorah. Seriously. We had all kinds of fun with it at a birthday party for two fantastic Sagittarians.

Another good party tip is to serve ice cream cake.

12.07.10 it sometimes takes a village... get a cute little 15-pound boy to smile. Here they are in moving pictures.

12.06.10 FREE Grand Slam!

I share my birthday with a pretty awesome guy (actually, he had it first). We celebrated by taking Denny's up on its offer of a FREE Grand Slam.

I received more gifts later on including a beautiful diamond necklace from my honey (he's really, really good at buying gifts for me) and saw fun gifts from Denise that I plan to shoot later.

My sister Lara was right, there is a lot of food on this blog.

12.05.10 dinner at the Arb

The Garage Mahal looks more like the Taj Mahal.

12.04.10 It's A Major Award

I received this lovely nightlight in the mail from a dear friend who knows I love "A Christmas Story" more than any other stories during the holidays. I love major awards.

12.03.10 a sugar high

Breakfast at Ann Sather means gigantic cinnamon rolls and the energy we needed for a danceable drive to the airport.

I'm so glad my kickboxing instructor does not look at this blog. He would not like what he found.

12.02.10 NUTELLA

When my sister Lara was 17 she spent a summer "studying" in France. She came home and shared with us an incredible find, Nutella. Thankfully, you now don't have to travel overseas to find this chocolatey goodness. It goes great on homemade bread with marshmallows and just about anything else.

12.01.10 pretzel bread

Took home a few of these delicious buns. They taste like pretzels and are oh so good. Got them at Green City Market - a name I can get behind.

11.30.10 April Smith & The Great Picture Show

In Chicago for a few days visiting my blonde sister. I planned my trip around seeing April Smith & The Great Picture show. We Mudbugs played with them on "A Prairie Home Companion" and I just love their music. We danced our faces off!

It was a great evening. We met our friend David for dinner and the Rajun Cajun martini was the drink special. It was meant to be.

11.28.10 Palin

The hockey mom was in town signing books in the home goods department of Dillons Marketplace. They let the press get just a tad closer than the last time she was here and we had to sit on the opposite end of the arena.

11.26.10 Black Friday

We scored the very last PSP3000 which made our early a.m. adventure worth every minute of lost sleep. Here's a video of our shopping adventure.

11.21.10 ICT travelers

Busy day at the airport. I'll be doing my Thanksgiving travel post-Thanksgiving which should cut down on the traffic. I'm smart like that.

11.19.10 ABBA Mania

"ABBA Mania" at the Orpheum was amazing! There was dancing in the aisles. Yes, we were those fools and we are not ashamed.

11.14.10 JOY

Sunday morning at Mama G's means JOY.

And for the second time in twelve hours I missed a toast because I was too busy behind the camera. I really need to get my priorities in line.

11.13.10 Cheers!

Cheers to chocolate covered cherries, a little dessert drink we concocted using chocolate cups, maraschino cherries and Bailey's.
