Met up with some of my favorite folks tonight to remember a friend who passed away last week, Sister Stella Dora Mary Carrie St. James Lexicon White Dog. We also celebrated the fact that we just won a $10,000 grant to help make a short documentary about the Bartlett Arboretum.

Sorry folks, but I am spending A LOT of time at Gridiron rehearsals so that's what you're gonna see a lot of for the next couple of weeks. This is our choreographer Stan Rogers who likes to remind us, "When in doubt, SWAY!"
Stan took a very cool photo of us during rehearsal with my camera.

Third-graders at Price-Harris Elementary launched balloons with notes tied to the string in memory of their classmate who died in a car crash over Spring Break. When the last balloon disappeared on the horizon, one little girl said, "Look, Seo Won caught it!" It was very sweet and so was the rap song they made for him.

We partied on St. Pattie's Day with traditional American Glam Rock! Our friend Sean plays drums in a band called The Banned and they played as a Poison tribute band called Poizin for the first part of the evening. They were great and I hope to see them again soon.

Took a road trip to Emporia, U.S.A. to meet up with the all-state high school basketball teams. Coach Chad is the assistant coach of the back-to-back state champions Heights High School. He was there with his star player. His beautiful wife is the Eagle's star prep sports writer Joanna Chadwick. She doesn't cover Heights because of her hubby's connection and they were a little shy about me photographing them together in front of everyone. It was pretty cute.

First rehearsal for Gridiron and we actually had a lot of material AND it's good stuff. Woo-hoo. I'm sure I'll sure more rehearsal shots in the next few weeks since that is where I will be spending most of my time.
I am, however, ditching rehearsal on Thursday night because the Mudbugs are playing the Murdock Theatre. We'll be headlining the Kansas Acoustic Arts Association's winter concert series. It's a beautiful theatre. Can't wait.

We (the three CRGs & me) came up with the idea to do a photo scavenger hunt today. We each contributed ideas (yellow, furry, glass, big, Star Wars to name a few) and we were all given a point-and-shoot camera.

Yes, he is checking me out and I wasn't even wearing an Orange Crush or Superman shirt like my sister Stefanie suggested. Had a great time shooting the show for the Eagle and then attending with my real guitar hero. We got the hookup through Carter's friend who plays in "Dashboard Confessional," the opening act.

I spent the day at two zoos visiting a pair of 38-year-old elephants at one and newborn penguins at the other. The highlight was getting to feed Stephanie, a sweet elephant with beautiful eyelashes. She snatched the food from my hand and the suction from her trunk felt like a lot like a Shop Vac.
Had some amazing sushi with two of my favorite ladies (we smuggled in a Happy Meal for the littlest lady and later found out that they have chicken nuggets on the menu).
You're looking at the Flat Land Dream which is made with crab mix, bay scallop, shrimp and cream cheese, albacore, avocado and topped with sriacha. YUM!

Spent the day at Greenjeans Studios laying down some tracks for the Mudbugs record that is in the works. We recorded an original French song written by CRG called, "Je Suis Fier De Toi." Don't know what it means but it'll make you shake your groove thing, that is for sure.

I shot the photo at right to submit to a site that I find fascinating that encourages people to rephotograph images from their youth. The one at left is CRG at age 11 in 1986 and the one at right was shot today.
I got an immediate response from the creator of the site after I submitted these pictures. He said, " dude! this is lengendary. I think my fav so far."
So, check out the site and enter number 324 to find him.

Lexi, the 5-year-old birthday princess, is surrounded by her princess pals. They were enamored with the incredible FTP (Fairy Tale Princess) who read to them and gave them a bag of swag.
