Kinda looks like a mountain range to me.
I shot a very friendly equine veterinarian today. One of the last things he did before I left was a procedure called floating. It's where he grinds the horse's teeth because, like bunnies, their teeth continue to grow throughout their lives. When I told him I was leaving he pulled his hand out of the horse's mouth and put it out for me to shake. I looked at it like he was kidding and then sucked it up and gave him my hand. This reminds me that I need to buy more Wet Wipes to keep in my car.

Trying out different ideas for our cd cover. I shot this at the birthplace of the Mudbugs Cajun & Zydeco Band. Mmm, mmm, tasty noms.
We're going to be eating plenty of Cajun food this weekend. The Mudbugs will be headlining "Mudbug Madness" at Prairie Pines. It's an old-fashioned crawfish boil with live crustaceans running around and giant pots of jambalaya. We did it last year and it was a blast. Can't wait to do it again.

We Mudbugs are busy getting our record done (this is a still from the video documentary I'm making). This is us in the studio doing a group vocal for a song Carter and I wrote on Christmas Eve called "They Say You Can't Play Cajun In Kansas." It was inspired by a conversation I had with then-Governor Kathleen Sebelius. A mutual friend told her about the Mudbugs and she said, "What do a bunch of Kansans know about that?" I'll definitely be sending a copy to the White House.

Checking out the stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center during tech rehearsal. Garrison rented a bus and took us on an incredible tour of Manhattan followed by dinner at an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn.
The highlight of the evening for me was when CRG and GK sang a duet at the end of the evening, although having our very own dressing room is pretty damn cool, too.
Check us out tonight on "A Prairie Home Companion."

We Mudbugs got together to practice, eat and watch "A Prairie Home Companion" movie. I'm sporting the shirts we surprised the band with on Sunday. It's from one of our favorite Zydeco greats, Chubby Carrier. We opened for him at the Wichita River Festival in 2009. Moments before we took the stage he said to us, "Now get your ass up there and play some music!" Amen.
The shirt can be seen in its entirety here.

The Mudbugs took the night off coming off of our very raucous sendoff party (we actually leave very early Friday morning). I stopped at the Orpheum to say hello to the Gridiron gang. It's gonna be a great show and shame on you if you haven't gotten your tickets yet.

Denise modeled a cute (although, we both agreed it was somewhat 1983ish) Ralph Lauren dress in a fashion show at the MALL to raise money for Dress For Success.
Just being at the mall reminded me of one of my favorite HIMYM episodes. Come on Jessica. Come on Tori. Let's go to the mall, you won't be sorey.

We Mudbugs (minus Greg & Juliah who were there in spirits in the form of the margarita money the sent for our celebration) got together to party and then practice for our big trip. We are trying to put together a sendoff show for us that will be on Sunday afternoon on April 11. Stay tuned for details, my friends.

Shot Taylor Swift tonight and I was hoping to post a pic or two on this blog but then I read the waiver underneath my press pass. The legalese was thick but I am pretty sure I can't post the picture here, but you can look here to see a bunch of them.
Shot the cast of Gridiron for the show's program. I'll miss these faces. I had to bow out of the show on Monday after I received the news that the Mudbugs are going to be playing for 4.3 million listeners on Prairie Home Companion the same weekend as Gridiron. That's right, we won a national contest to perform on the show live from Newark, New Jersey on April 17. Exciting times and I feel like such a rock star!
The show's host Garrison Keillor asked for a band that will get people dancing. We entered this tune, an original that Carter wrote in French. If it don't get you outta your seat, well, you must not have blood pumping through your veins!
