07.31.10 Potato salad

We put a call out on Facebook for potato salad recipes and we concocted our own by using a mixture of ingredients we liked in the suggested recipes. NOM!

6 medium baking potatoes (no need to remove the skins)
3 celery stalks, finely chopped
3 hard-boiled eggs, roughly chopped
6 strips bacon, roughly chopped
1 cup Ranch dressing
1 teas garlic powder
Juice of one lemon
1 teas Cayenne pepper
1 fat squirt of mustard
salt and peppa to taste

Boil the potatoes for 15-20 minutes. Remove and cool. Put in a big bowl and mix in the other ingredients.

07.30.10 Andy & Michelle

Shot a beautiful wedding at the Arb. Lots of fun details, great couple, cute kids, colorful tats (that's our state motto for you non-Kansans), awesome birdcage veil, Rice Krispie wedding cake, and fun homemade photobooth. I think this is a good look for Robin.

This wasn't the first time I had photographed the groom. Check him out playing the drums in this video.

07.26.10 It's ON!

Denise has challenged her coworkers to forgo the elevator in favor of the stairs at the Eagle. We are to mark every time we climb to the top. Not sure what the winner receives. I'm hoping it's a McDonald's ice cream cone.

07.24.10 eating the profits

Lexi noms on one of the products she sold at her lemonade/cookie stand.

07.23.10 Let there be light!

And there was light! There wasn't light for about six months as we watched our old lights slowly die over time. We're hoping these industrial strength strands will stick around a little longer.

07.21.10 POPPERS!

Stuffed with cream and goat cheeses and then grilled.

First popper: En FUEGO! Seriously, the hottest thing ever. Hiccuping begins immediately (am I the only one that happens to after eating something spicy?). Why not give it another try?

Second: Starting to feel a little dizzy, but kind of like the feeling.

Third: Vision is blurry and there is a fog in the air. Not sure if the jalapeno has screwed with our retinas or if there is a literal fog in the air from the smoky peppers.

07.19.10 forum

Attended a candidate forum in Wellington where they rewarded the guests with a lovely ice cream sundae bar. One of the candidates said, "I'm pretty sure you came here for the ice cream and not to hear me speak." I'm pretty sure he was right.

SLIP N' SLIDE right into your brother. Wham-O!

07.16.10 cheeeeze

Alan and Monterey Jack rocking out the Brickyard, the "Best Topless Bar In Town." All the people were fully-clothed (mostly), it's the venue that has no top. They'll be there again on Friday, August 6.

07.15.10 impressionism

Came home to find this beautiful artwork brightening up the scenery. Niiiiiice.

07.14.10 Westley

Wow! This cutie pie is almost two months already. You can't see it clearly, but Lori's burp rag is made out of an old Gridiron T-shirt. It's very cute and very worthy of burpage.

07.13.10 press kits

Sharing the Mudbug love with some folks who are interested in us entertaining them. I'm biased, but I think our packets look pretty sharp!

07.10.11 An opah, fiesta, simcha!

My lovely assistant and I spent the day photographing a fantastic wedding. I've never seen so many people attack the dance floor with fervor the way their guests did. They did a Jewish dance, a dance, AND there was a Mariachi band. They were fun to hang with!

07.09.10 110th Wellington Wheat Festival

This is CRG walking with members of his lodge portraying George Washington. It was pretty freaking awesome. Pa Green got in on the fun, too. John Wayne was also a Mason, so we could be looking for a Western getup this time next year.

I hope my man is doing something like this at the 160th Wellington Wheat Festival. Seriously, those guys are adorable.

07.08.10 screening

I attended (and also tended the merch table) at the screening of the documentary "What's The Matter With Kansas?" at the Wichita Public Library. The filmmakers and I have a mutual friend and I met them a few weeks ago at her wedding.

Turns out that my picture (and credit line) are both in the film. They show several copies of The Wichita Eagle, including one with a front page picture I shot of Thomas Etheredge.

07.07.10 Wheat Fest FUN!

Had a great time at the 110th Wheat Festival in Wellington. The kiddles, rode rides, ate fried doughy goodness and Carter won a pink pig for moi!

More fun on Friday when CRG portrays George Washington in the Wheat Festival Parade. A sword, wig and horse will be involved. Pics to come.

07.06.10 my favorite flower

I wait all year for this beautiful flower to pop out of my garden. I don't know what it's called. Robin, any ideas?

07.03.10 the return of Big Dan

Big Dan (the Mudbugs' first washboard player) made a special guest appearance during our Wellington show. Sorry you can't actually see the washboard or Big Dan. I only get up from the drums during bathroom emergencies.

07.02.10 Cajun ink

Awesome! This guy is committed to the cause. He owns a Cajun restaurant in Lawrence. We met him during the street party we played in his rockin' town.

07.01.10 green is the new black

My girl Molly is sporting a new fashion accessory. It's neon green and will be on her bod for the next five weeks to help heal her broken wrist. The good news is that she doesn't seem too upset about it.
