04.28.12 Six days on the road

Mudbugs Madness was the debut of one our new songs, a Cajun cover of "Six Days On The Road." Carter chose the songs for many reasons, the biggest was that it reminded him of his dad, a retired truck driver. Bob Green was sitting on the front row when his son dedicated the song to him and he was very touched.

04.24.12 bus station

It was so strange. I was at the bus station for about 15 minutes with a handful of people. All of a sudden about 15 city buses arrived within 90 seconds and the place was bumpin'!

04.21.12 wedding weekend

Carter's nephew got married today in Wellington. This seems like it was yesterday.

I'll be at another wedding tomorrow at the Bartlett Arboretum.

04.20.12 Everyday is Earth Day

A little bee buzzes around a flower at the Bartlett Arboretum. Can't remember the name of the flower but I  do remember that it is in the garlic family and is edible to skunks.

04.18.12 checking on the kids

Ran into a group of Oaklawn Elementary School teachers walking around the neighborhood checking on their kids and this just happens to be this little girl's second-grade teacher. The school is reopening tomorrow after being shut down because it had no electricity.

04.04.12 we saved a spot for Les

We met last night to pick SPJ Gridiron scholarship winners and saved a spot for our friend Les (that's him represented by the fake plant). It's the same seat he sat in last year and we all miss him greatly.

04.03.12 Gridiron

Shot cast mugs tonight for the Gridiron program. I also saw a few dance numbers during rehearsal that cracked me up. Only 9 days away!

04.02.12 on the scene

I was working on the computer working with the police scanner in the background when I heard several engines called to 825 E. Douglas. Wait a minute! That's the Eagle's address. Wait another minute, THAT's where I'M AT! It turned out to be a lot of smoke and no fire. The building was evacuated and everybody was fine.

04.01.12 Shocker dugout

After a few runs were scored in the second inning.

03.31.12 Death by Chocolate

A very fun event at Exploration Place. I learned a lesson that chocolate and beer work better in your tummy if there's something else to mingle with it.
