06.29.12 Bonnie, Bonnie BING

Been working on a video tribute for my friend Bonnie for several months and I surprised her with it at a celebration in her honor. She liked it.

06.28.12 saying bye to Bon

We had our newsroom sendoff for Bonnie today full of tears and laughs. There will be another celebration tomorrow where I promise to post a picture of the guest of honor.

06.24.12 Deviant Art

My shutter finger was a little sore after shooting more than 2,000 frames at Saturday's wedding. So at the end of the day I realized I had only shot a few photos and they are of Catherine's artwork so she can post them here.

06.22.12 grilled pizza

Pizza on the grill is amazing stuff. Toss the dough on the grates for a few minutes and then top the pizza. Close the lid and the toppings melt.

06.21.12 the best form of flattery

I had a killer chicken tandoori wrap and beet salad at this food truck recently. I tried to replicate it myself and came pretty close. Should've used a real wrap instead of a tortilla, but other than that it was great.

06.19.12 ducks in a row

This is Colin Green's handiwork. He gathered all of the ducks in the bathroom and put them in a line that he says represents our family. This means that Carter is the James Brown Celebriduck. I can see it.

06.16.12 stick and rudder

Father's Day came a day early in the Green household. CRG was surprised with a beautiful cake my his 12-year-old daughter that included his favorite things: a fiddle, our Mara and her mouse.

A few hours later Carter surprised his own dad (a former pilot who hadn't flown since 1969) with a ride in a Stearman Biplane. Turns out he did more than just ride and took hold of the controls for awhile. He was ecstatic!

06.15.12 at the ballpark

Just before the start of the epic 2-hour baseball game. The Gunners won 14-9. You're looking at the shadow of a player who had a RBI, got on base and was tagged out while sliding into home. He didn't see any action in the outfield.

06.12.12 mango sherbet

It's the nectar of the gods. I prefer mine to be served from a mug (not sure why, that's just what I like).

06.08.12 partying like rock stars

Well, we did have a few drinks in our room together but you can't really achieve rock star status when you go to bed at 11 p.m. but we needed some zzzs.

06.03.12 all tatted up

Denise had to get a tattoo to ride the S.S. Waterwagon.

06.02.12 British Invasion

Carter and I co-emceed a British Invasion concert in Winfield. Performances by Dusty Springfield, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Lulu, Sir Elton John and, of course, my man as Eric Clapton. It was amazing. Lots of talented people down there who like to have a rockin' time.

05.31.12 transportation

Three 737 fuselages wait there turn to leave Wichita by rail and head to Washington. Bikes and trikes are also a common site at Spirit AeroSystems.
