02.23.13 YWCA Mardi Gras Party

This was the third time we've played the annual YWCA fundraiser. It's always a great time. I always get my face painted and it looks like I always wear the same outfit.

02.20.13 winter

We haven't seen this stuff in awhile.

02.19.13 iPhone portrait session

Have I mentioned how much I love the iPhone camera? I decided to do an impromptu portrait session of most of the photo staff members in the office at the time. Brian said he was too busy doing "real" work to participate. I let him know that I'm learning how to push the iPhone camera in new ways - a skill that will one day come in handy in my new camera.

Technical note: I processed all of these using the Snapseed app and the selfie of me isn't the high quality as the boys because the rear facing camera on the iPhone 4s isn't as good as the front camera.

02.15.13 Shocking pink

The florist told Carter these were called "shocking pink" with a high petal count. She spoke the truth.

02.14.13 Happy Valentine's Day

The North High swim team did a funny cheer at the pep rally and then tore off their breakaway clothing. Kids these days.

02.13.14 John Deere

I'm always amazed at how big farm machinery is. This was the baby in the shop, too.

02.12.13 Mardi Gras

Fifth annual Fat Tuesday at Heroes is now in the books. Had a blast debuting our new songs and my new drums for a great crowd.

At 10 p.m. I realized I hadn't shot anything for the blog that day so I found the most photogenic things nearby.

Molly's beloved father (who was also a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather) was laid to rest in a beautiful ceremony and graveside service.
